Bodhrán Workshop:

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the mysterious Celtic/Irish drum know as the bodhrán? This simple frame drum that originally came from Ireland has evolved into one of the most universal percussion instruments today, branching out into many different genres outside of the Celtic world. Join award-winning bodhrán player Jacob McCauley and delve into the origins of the drum, how it has evolved and where it is going today as well as the various styles and technique used to give the instrument its signature sound. You can even try you hand at the instrument as there will be a few extra drums on hand.

NUA Workshop: 

Irish and Scottish traditional music has a long and rich history but has continued to be a mainstay in not just in Ireland and Scotland, but around the world. The music has kept its tradition, but also has had the chance to grow and evolve with the influence from other genres from across the globe. Join award-winning Irish/Scottish Celtic trio NUA and learn about how the music has evolved and how the trio goes about writing new original music that is both innovative, yet also continues the storied tradition as well some insight into the instruments they play.
